There's fungus among us...

Our backyard has been invaded by a number of very large mushrooms, some of them quite impressive in size. Apparently, these are edible when they are first popping up out of the ground, but I'm not inclined to try them, personally.

They also dissolve into black goo if you pick them or kick them over. It takes a couple of hours, but they are actually pretty easy to get rid of. I'm informed that they are very good for the ecosystem, so I should just let 'em grow when they aren't in the way. Ok. Sure.
