Apparently, "Winged Pigs Are Bobsledding in Hell"

The Seattle Times supports legalizing marijuana, and has written several editorials on the subject over the last week. Headline from Slog.

Not a fan of drugs, myself, and I've never even smoked a cigarette or had a glass of any sort of alcohol, much less tried pot. But considering the insane cost of the war on drugs, the relatively harmless effects of marijuana compared to alcohol, and the possible revenue stream that would come from taxing the stuff, I'm not opposed to legalization. There are a dozen other reasons, too, including serious environmental issues. Legalization won't make me any more inclined to try it, and I doubt it'll make a huge overall difference in its use. And as long as the penalties for abuse are still high, I just don't see the downside.

What do you think?

I think it's good for medical reasons. Especially if one is in great pain...It's legal to grow medicinal marijuana

I myself don't like the smell of it, but can see it's uses. Where do you grow it though? One person in our City is complaining about the smell from neighbours.

Should they grow it in industrial areas?

I'm sure I've smelled the stuff, but I'm not sure I would recognize it again. I can't really imagine why a grow operation would stink. I thought that plants were just normal plants, and only smelled when they were smoked. I guess I don't know enough about the stuff to judge.

Now that you mention it yeh, I don't know about what the smell would be like for a grow-op. I know that I don't like the smell when I pass someone who is smoking it. I live in an apt, and sometimes in the past I cold smell it from the neighbours, thankfully, not anymore!

I guess for this guy to be complaining, there must be some kind of smell.

Makes me almost curious enough to hunt out a legal grow op (medical marijuana is legal in Washington state). But no, I think I'll just watch from the sidelines instead.
