There's a great article about Clue and how the movie has developed a cult following in the years since its release. What's strange is that I saw the movie in the theater and loved it. Ok, I didn't get to see all three endings, but I heard about them from other people (mostly my sister, who worked in a theater at the time). After reading the article I just want to see the movie again.

I never remember hearing anything at all about its theatrical release, but discovered it when it showed up on the new release shelves at local video stores when it came out on VHS, where I probably rented it at least a dozen times. It was probably too quirky to do well in theaters, but on home video and cable it could be discovered by exactly the right audience who could watch it over and over and then spread the word to like-minded friends.
