In Journalista, Dirk Deppey misrepresents my opinion on the word "minx". I didn't "take issue" with it. I was simply confused and asking for clarification. Oh well. I can't expect him to have read all my other comments on the subject. I am actually closer to Dirk's opinion of "who cares" than he realizes. I just didn't understand why there wasn't more of an outcry, since the word (in my mind) clearly had negative connotations. Now I know why there isn't an outcry. The meaning I thought the word had is apparently not what most people think. That's the problem with words. Definitions, and connotations, change over the years. A girl with her head stuck in old books is likely to get a bit confused when words don't mean what they think she means.

Let's make this really clear: If trained election officials cannot get a voting machine to work properly, then the machine is broken. Doesn't matter if it's "human error", the frickin' machines DON'T WORK. If trained officials have problems, the general public won't be able to use the things either.
