Somebody out there is letting off a lot of fireworks, and it's only 9:30 here.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

2012 Review
I didn't do too well with my goals for last year. Maybe one out of the five. Yikes.
Ok, this year is going to be easy. I know I can accomplish everything, it's just a matter of doing it.
1) Blog regularly. Daily if possible. More linkdumps like in the past. Figure out how to blog from Android. Just put more stuff up on Bloggity.
2) Record what I eat again. For instance, this morning so far I had my usual New Year's meal of cheese, crackers and sparkling cider just after midnight. Eric made cinnamon rolls this morning for breakfast. I need to record all that, and then let my worrying do the rest.
3) Start to learn layouts at work. I am extremely limited until I have a chance to mess with InDesign. Once I've started to really learn that program, I think I can start to improve my skills.
I'll stick with those for now. I have a lot more I can do, but I don't want a losing record at the end of the year and I know I can do these.

End...
Good riddance to 2012. It wasn't the worst year, but I've had better. Let's hope 13 is lucky.

New Year Review
So, how did 2011 go? I had five goals for 2011, and I managed three of them. Not a horrible percentage. So I guess I ought to figure out what I need to do for next year...
1) Get back into the habit of losing weight. That includes calorie counting, exercising, or whatever else I need to do. No more excuses.
2) Write steadily on 750words.com. I don't necessarily need to write daily anymore, since I'm writing daily at work. But regularly, at least.
3) Get back to blogging regularly. I'm going to aim for three times a week at the minimum.
4) Update the Aquaman page/wiki at least once a month or so, once I've got it updated with the last six month's worth of information *sigh*.
5) Continue to grow and learn in my job. I love it, I am having the time of my life, I want to learn more.
Happy New Year, everyone. And goodnight.

New Year's Goals
My (public) goals for the New Year:
1) Get a job.
2) Work out on the Wii Fit or by Walking on a regular basis, and work my way back up to daily workouts again.
3) Start counting calories again so I can get back to my ideal weight.
4) Continue writing daily at 750words.com. If I don't have access to a computer, write my words out longhand.
5) Start to find a career. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Ah, New Year... Time for Drunken Calls from Complete Strangers...
At 9:44pm Seattle time, I got a call from New Jersey. I know a couple of people in New Jersey, but this was not one of them. She slurred out a name that I think was Carol. Can't be entirely sure. I said hello a couple of times, and the third time she slurred out the name, I realized it might be a name, and suggested to her that she had a wrong number. She politely, very slurred, apologized and wished me a very happy New Year. I wished her a happy New Year as well, and hoped she got home safely as she hung up...

More New Year Merriment
Can I just say that I hate insomnia? It doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while, I end up staying up all night, not even getting sleepy until it's just about time for me to get up, like I'm doing right now. But at least it gives me an excuse to do my morning web surfing before I hit the hay. So in the spirit of the new year, I thought I'd share this cartoon with you. Pretty much sums things up, doesn't it?

Happy New Year!
I think this cartoon by the great Stephanie Piro (she's one of the six chicks who puts together the Six Chix comic) says it all:

Happy 2009!
As we look forward to a new year (finally!), let's take a look back at pop culture in 2008 with the crew from Pop Waffle, shall we?

Happy New Year!
It's a nice morning, as the fireworks go off around the town. Hubby-Eric and I have had the traditional first meal of the year:

I will admit that this is the first year I've actually counted the calories in my first meal, but it won't be the last. We're hoping 2007 is a better year for us, and everyone else. And now, a song...
Here are the words: Auld lang syne. It literally means, "Old long since," and refers to old time or times past.
Should auld acquaintance be forgotDon't forget old friends and old times as we move into the future.
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne!
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
